Ella Munro is a young folk singer hailing from the Isle of Skye, on the west coast of Scotland. After studying for five years at the prestigious national centre of excellence in traditional music in Plockton she then went on to gain a place studying scots song at the Royal conservatoire of Scotland under the outstanding tutoring of Fiona Hunter and Rod Paterson.
During her time in Glasgow she has performed supporting well known acts such as the Paul McKenna Band, Archie Fisher, Blue Rose Code and many more. Ella has also performed at many high profile venues such as Eden Court, Edinburgh folk club, the Star folk club and others. She also frequently performs at local folk clubs in Glasgow and further afield and is indeed becoming a regular on the folk club circuit with performances at The Wee Folk Club, the Sutherland Sessions, Leith Folk Club, Stonehaven Folk Club and others. Ella’s passion for both traditional and contemporary music can be seen in her varied repertoire of scots songs by the likes of Dick Gaughan and Angus MacNaughton (to name but a few) to her self-penned songs, rapidly gaining awareness in the folk scene.
In 2017 Ella will be undertaking 2 tours around Scotland in April and July.

Singer and Guitarist
Twenty year old Aidan Moodie is one of the newest additions to the group of Orcadian young musicians, the Orkneys have a thriving traditional music scene and Aidan is one to watch.
Currently Aidan is in the third year of his traditional music degree at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying acoustic guitar and Scots song.
A regular at ‘Celtic Connections’ and with two of the much coveted Danny Kyle Awards to his credit, Aidan’s has performed his music at many Scottish venues, as well as venues in Belgium, Germany, Norway and back home at the highly rated Orkney Folk Festival, where he performed as the sole guitarist for ‘Orkney Folk: The Gathering’ (2015).
Aidan’s guitar work has also seen him become a sought-after accompanist amongst Glasgow’s traditional singers, where he’s performed alongside Iona Fyfe, Christy Scott, Ella Munro, and many others.
Accordion and Guitar
Sam Mabbett is a talented accordion player from England, he is currently studying in Glasgow at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and already leads and performs at sessions across Glasgow. He currently plays with bands such as Northern Company and the Ella Munro band.
Catriona Hawksworth is a talented piano played from Kilwinning, in Ayrshire. She has become a much sought after accompanist for singers and tune players alike. She is currently studying at the University of Newcastle on their Folk and Traditional Music degree and is participating in their Erasmus scheme by studying in Sweden for a year.
She won the Orkney Folk Festival open stage in 2012 and attended the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music for two years. During this time she was taught by musicians such as Andy Thorburn, Sandy Brechin, Dougie Pincock and Mhairi Hall. Catriona has since played with Tannara, Mabel Duncan and performed at Celtic Connections.
Ella and Catriona have been playing together for a number of years and have gigged extensively including The Wee Folk Club, Edinburgh and supporting Blue Rose Club at Milngavie Folk Club, May 2016. Ella and Catriona will be releasing recordings and undergoing a tour of the folk clubs summer 2017.
